24-Well Krystal™, 96-Well Krystal™ and 96-Well Krystal™ 2000

The Krystal™ range of clear bottom assay plates facilitate detection of cells and maximise optical clarity.  Cells grown on the bottom surface can be viewed using an inverse microscope or for light-emitting assays to be measured from the bottom. Porvair's range of clear bottom assay plates are all constructed with ultra pure grade polystyrene, maintain the standard SBS/ANSI format, and are for use with top or bottom reading instruments.  All clear bottom assay plates are available as white or black.  The white matrix provides for maximum reflectivity, allowing high sensitivity luminescence assays.  The Black matrix provides a quenching of background fluorescence reducing false positives.

The 24-well and 96-well Krystal™ plates are optimised for direct fluorescence and luminescence detection where samples are typically large.  The unique 24-Well Krystal™ plate offers 3.1ml working volume convenient footprint of a standard 96-well plate, the Krystal™ 24 provides a large surface area per well enabling efficient cell growth.  For higher throughput applications, the 96-well Krystal™ microplate plate (350µl working volume) options are available.  The 96-Well Krystal™ 2000 microplates share the same features as the 24-Well Krystal™ and the 96-Well Krystal™ range, but are designed with raised rims and lowered bottom rim to stop lateral light piping.

The special design of the Krystal™ 2000 plate eliminates well-to-well light crosstalk inherent with other clear-bottomed microplate designs thus enabling unmatched accuracy and reproducibility of photometric readings.
